Air Purifier HEPA Filter

1. What is the air purifier HEPA filter?

The air purifier HEPA filter is an air purifier that works by filtering all the air in the room where it's located. The air purifier HEPA filter doesn't produces ozone like ozone air purifiers or ionizes the air like the air ionizer purifier . Also, it doesn't have any special lamp like UV air purifiers to sterilize the micro-organisms that pass through it. This device doesn't use activated carbon air filters or hydroxyl radicals to purify the air. It operates in a very unique and interesting way that I’m going to describe to you here.

2. How does the air purifier HEPA filter work?

This device works by filtering the air. How does it filter the air? Air purifier HEPA filter has a cloth filter capable of removing at least 99.97% of 0.3-micrometer or larger particles. Also, it has a fan to move the air through the filter.

Generally, this devices has a replaceable filter that usually last several years.
Of course, the duration of the filter depends on how filthy the air is in your home.

In dusty environments, an easily cleaned conventional filter, used as a pre-filter, can be applied before the HEPA filter to remove coarser impurities, avoiding the need of frequent HEPA filter changes.

Normally, air purifier HEPA filter has a noise level that some people may not like to deal with. There are more "quiet" options available on the market other then HEPA machines.

It's belived that HEPA machines can remove more pollutants compared with ionic air purifiers.

4. Advantages

- Particle size: Air purifier HEPA filter are effective with particles down to 0.03 micrometers.

- Allergens: Air purifier HEPA filter captures allergens. Once captured they are not released into the air again.

- Byproducts: Air purufier HEPA filter do not generate ozone or other harmful byproducts.

5. Disadvantages

- Odors: HEPA machines are not effective on odors or cigarette smoke.

- Chemicals: HEPA machines are not effective chemical fumes.
